Community Involvement

These are some ways for you to get Involved with our community:
  • Legal Aid of Northwest Texas sponsors monthly free legal clinics for the public in McKinney and in Plano. To sign up as a volunteer or obtain more information, contact Jan Kearney. The McKinney clinic meets in Allen the second Thursday of every month at First United Methodist Church, 601 S. Greenville Avenue, Allen  TX  75002. The Plano clinic meets the third Thursday of each month at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 5801 W. Plano Parkway, Plano  TX  75093.   • Help by Answering Questions at Free Legal Answers of Texas - This is an ABA- sponsored site for answering questions from the public via email. Sign-up information is available through the Volunteer Attorney Registration tab on the site.https://texas.freelegalanswers.org/ .
  •  Veterans Clinic: We need volunteers for our Veterans Legal Clinic, which offers free advice-only services to area veterans. The clinic is held at Workforce Solutions, Texas Veterans Commission, 1701 W. Eldorado Parkway # 250 in McKinney, Texas 75069. To volunteer, contact Penny Robe.
  •  Attorneys speakers in local schools: We are seeking schools who would like to have an attorney speak to high school classes on various subjects. In the past, popular topics have included criminal law, family law, and debt and consumer law. If you would like to get information about this program, please contact our president Cynthia Dashiell.
